About us
The Greek School of Bishop’s Stortford was founded in October 2012 through the initiative of members of the local Greek and Cypriot community -parents and non-parents alike – who share a passion for preserving the Greek language, culture, and traditions for current and future generations.
Our school operates on Saturdays during term time and is hosted at Manor Fields Primary School in Bishop’s Stortford, within the mobile classrooms (Penningtons, Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire CM23 4LE). The classrooms are accessible via the school’s playground gate, and there is ample parking available on site.
We welcome children of all ages and language levels. Lessons are tailored by age and ability and delivered by experienced, qualified teachers, many of whom also work in local maintained schools. All staff are CRB checked and trained in first aid. Our curriculum introduces students to the Greek alphabet, reading, spelling, and basic grammar. However, our primary focus is on speaking and listening skills, helping students to build confidence and gain the vocabulary necessary to communicate in Greek—always in a fun and engaging way.
What truly makes our school special is the dedicated and passionate teaching team. A heartfelt thank you goes to Sotiris, Emma, Nina, Konstantinos, Panos and Eve – our outstanding educators and volunteers who create a joyful and inspiring learning environment. Their commitment is the reason our students arrive with bright smiles every Saturday.
